Volunteering with Welfare Avenue

I finally got the opportunity to volunteer with welfare avenue! For the past two years, I’ve e en following them on social media and signing up to their events on Sunday where they hand out food to the homeless population near Berry-Uqam, the day before the event, I got a text and quickly confirmed.

I arrived and met up with Mia (a new friend), we both arrived early, so we waited together for the event to start, we served food and thankfully there was a lot of organizations on the same day, therefore we also packaged our food, so the recipients can take it home for another day. Every person served was so kind, we sparked conversations a few times.

I really liked the volunteers and the organizers, we had a great vibe going on!

I truly wanna volunteer more with this association, the feeling of accomplishment I had was indescribable
