From August 5 to August 7, i was privileged to attend the afro summit entrepreneurial immersive laboratory at Bishop’s University.
The Montreal delegation met up in Cote-des-neiges and we got on our way to Sherbrooke, the ride was very pleasant. When we got to Sherbrooke, we waited for the other cities to arrive and we got handed the keys to our dorms.
The first night, we attended an introduction conference where they talked about the importance of innovation in entrepreneurship, they paired us into age group teams and there was only two 18y old groups, i was in group with 2 guys from Montreal and 2 from Ottawa. It was nice to interact with people from other cities. We went to the dining hall and ended the night after.
The next morning, after breakfast, we had 3 lectures on how to find an innovative business, how to make a business plan and how to communicate with business partners. Those lectures took around 6 hours with a break for dinner. After those lectures we visited the sports center. We had a closing conference that re-capped what we learned during the day and then I went to go play pool with my new friends.
On the last day, we visited the museum of bombardier and saw the genius inventions he created! I really liked the ski-doo and how he transformed the “dead” season into a season of adventures.
Honestly, I didn't learn much during my experience because I have business knowledge from my past experiences, but I really enjoyed the social interactions
